Arrive Alive
Not the North Wales Talivan, but a Department of Transport site offering 'A Highway Code for Young Road Users'.
Unusually for government sites, this is thankfully free of the normal political undertones.
ICE Campaign
The campaign to store 'ICE' and your next of kin in your mobile phone to let the emergency services know who to contact if you are involved in any incident.
Green Cross Code
Remember this? If the government is so concerned about road safety, how come we don't see it promoted more?
Here are a few examples of sites that are keeping it alive:
Hedgehogs — Department for Transport site for children.
Hedgehogs
A Department of Transport road safety site for children.
Includes games, song lyrics, and screensavers.
Learn-2-Live
Campaigning for compulsory Motorway driving tuition for newly qualified drivers.
The ABD encourages all newly qualified drivers to take the 'Pass-Plus' course of additional motorway training. Learner drivers are not permitted on motorways, so new drivers who have not experienced motorway driving as an observant passenger are ill-equipped to deal with them as a driver.
Light Dome
Manufacturers of 'Enlightener' fresnel lenses for HGVs, and wildlife reflectors.
PSP Marine Tapes
Manufacturers of retro-reflective self-adhesive tape such as you see outlining the back of lorries.
Being designed for marine use, this is extremely durable and can be applied to any vehicle or bicycle to increase it's night time visibility.
Available from Seaware, and all good chandlers.
Road Ticker
Web-based road safety warning utility & mobile safety camera schedule
viewer
