ABD Slams Disabled Parking Charge
The Association of British Drivers has condemned a decision by Carmarthenshire Council to impose parking charges upon disabled drivers.
Carmarthenshire Council's executive board have recommended that disabled drivers should pay the same charges as other drivers from 1st January 2011. However, the proposal has to go to public consultation and be approved by the full council. 1

ABD chairman Brian Gregory said:
“This proposal just underlines how some councils see drivers as a cash cow, even if they are disabled and have no other means of transport. If councils need to raise funds it should be done fairly across the whole community, not by targeting any particular part of the community. The financial discrimination against drivers must stop.”
