The ABD does not condone driving a car whilst incapacitated by alcohol or drugs in any way, and generally advise people not to drink alcohol if they intend to drive.
Yet we do not support a reduction in the blood alcohol level that defines 'drunk driving' because the existing limit is sufficient. People who have an accident whilst drunk are invariably significantly over the existing limit, there is no evidence that reducing the limit will improve road safety. Calls for a blood alcohol level of zero are based upon fanaticism or hysteria, not science.
