The Association of British Drivers
Website Notes
The ABD website was established on 20th July 1996.
Our site now contains well over 800 pages of facts and figures refuting government/green anti-car propaganda, and supporting drivers in their efforts to campaign against a plethora of increasingly unreasonable anti-car policies.
Browser
We support the Viewable with any browser campaign.
Our website is optimized for the
pera browser. If you are concerned by Microsoft's domination of the computer market, and are unimpressed by Netscape selling out to AOL,
pera offers a high quality alternative.
Cookies
We do not write any cookies to your computer.
Many web sites clutter up your computer with useless cookies that store data about when you last visited their site. Over time you can build up an excessive amount of such junk. We do not contribute to this problem.
Date Format
Dates shown as numbers on our site (e.g. 2003-03-12) are in accordance with the international date format defined by ISO8601 (i.e. yyyy-mm-dd).
Dates including month names (e.g. 12th March 2003) may be in other formats as these are unambiguous.
Frames
Our sites uses frames to reduce page loading time.
If you cannot see the left-hand menu frame, click here.
Clicking the logo in the top right of any page will also bring up the home page.
Linking to a specific page
If you wish to link to a specific page, the URL of the page is given at the foot of the page.
For your convenience this is in the form of a link so that it can be dragged or copied.
For banners and images to use to link to our site, see Banners.
Screen area
Our website is optimized for a screen area of 1024 x 768 pixels. Statistics indicate that more than 80% of web users have their screens set to this size or bigger (W3 Schools 2007).
